We believe in the power of community
The Mount Vernon Downtown Association (MVDA) is a 501(c)3 nonprofit that serves as the voice of Downtown Mount Vernon. Our historic district is the heart of our community, we work to support, develop, and build vibrance in Downtown Mount Vernon through promotion, advocacy, outreach, and celebration.
We are part of the Washington State Main Street Program under the Washington Trust for Historic Preservation. We are guided by the principles of the National Main Street Program. The MVDA works to meet its goals by following Main Street’s four point approach: design, organization, economic vitality, and promotion.

Our vision is of a thriving historic downtown Mount Vernon, where all are welcome in the clean, safe, appealing heart of commerce and culture, a place where the community comes together with pride.
Our Mission
The mission of the Mount Vernon Downtown Association is to cultivate a vibrant and prosperous downtown while honoring its historic character, to preserve and grow the place where community connection happens.
Main Street Accredited
As a Main Street America Accredited program, The Mount Vernon Downtown Association is a recognized leading program among the national network of more than 1,200 neighborhoods and communities who share both a commitment to creating high-quality places and to building stronger communities through preservation-based economic development.
All Main Street America Accredited programs meet a set of National Accreditation Standards of Performance as outlined by the National Main Street Center.
