Meet Emma!
Emma comes to the Mount Vernon Downtown Association with a broad range of experience in community engagement and outreach. She has worked with a variety of organizations and is excited to develop and implement programs that foster community connections and support local businesses in downtown Mount Vernon.
In her new role, Emma will be responsible for building relationships with local residents, businesses, and community organizations. She will also lead efforts to promote the downtown area and drive economic development by working closely with local stakeholders to continue efforts to build up our vibrant, thriving community.
Emma is passionate about community building and is looking forward to working with the Mount Vernon Downtown Association to achieve this goal. She believes that by working together, the Association and the local community can create a downtown area that is not only a hub for commerce, but also a place where people can come together to connect, have fun, and build meaningful relationships through shared experiences.
"I grew up here in Mount Vernon but left for five years to pursue my education. Returning with the perspective from my time away, I have seen the incredible impact this organization has on our community. I am thrilled to be a part of it." says Emma. Ellen Gamson, Executive Director of the MVDA, says "We are excited to have Emma on board and are confident that her abilities and passion will help drive the organization's mission forward. With Emma joining the team full-time, we are perfectly positioned to level up our efforts to support and enhance a downtown area that is both economically vibrant, more inclusive and socially connected."
So, when you see Emma around downtown Mount Vernon, be sure to say hello and welcome her back to the community!
